Teachers Workshop for Science
Training science teachers from Mumbai's Urdu schools to teach concepts through practical everyday experiments — held at Alma Lateefi Hall.
Workshop Overview
Held in coordination with the Head Masters Association at Alma Lateefi Hall, Saboo Siddique, on 27th September 2014, this workshop brought together science teachers from Mumbai's Urdu-medium schools. It aimed to teach science through simple activities and experiments — turning a subject often seen as dry into something lived through everyday experience.
Peer Learning & BARC Experts
Participating teachers narrated the practical experiments they had conducted, enriching the experience for everyone in the room. Scientist Mr. Sonawane Vinod Kumar and Instructor Mr. Hemant Lagunkar, both from BARC, presented simple science practicals that earned enthusiastic applause from the audience.
Impact on Teachers
The teachers were visibly energised by the new approaches to science teaching — so much so that they insisted this type of workshop be conducted every year.
